Comments
When visitors leave comments on my website, I collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. You can find the Gravatar service privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media
If you upload images to my website, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the site.

Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie will be set to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, I will set cookies to store your login information and screen preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select „Remember Me“, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data—only the post ID of the article you just edited—and expires after one day.

How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows follow-up comments to be approved automatically instead of being held in a moderation queue.

If you register on my website (if registration is enabled), I will also store the personal information you provide in your user profile. You can view, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except your username). I, as the site administrator, can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data
